June 2, 2013 – The Bloomington Knights of Columbus Marian Council 3827 participated in a Corpus Christi procession at St Bonaventure following the 10am mass. This procession went through the grounds of the parish and completed with Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction. In addition, to this procession there was also a Multilingual procession hosted by the Archdiocese of St Paul Minneapolis which took the faithful through the streets of St Paul.
The Corpus Christi procession in St Paul begun at the bottom of Cathedral Hill at the Little Sister of the Poor and continued for about 1 mile along West 7th Street to the Cathedral. The procession included +/- 500 faithful Catholics signing traditional hymns in English, Spanish and Latin. The faithful gathered for this procession also said a complete Divine Mercy Chaplet prior to arriving at the Cathedral. Once inside the Cathedral, Bishop Piché processed the Eucharistic Lord to the Altar. The faithful now gathered inside the Cathedral participated in adoration and listened to a reading from the day’s Gospel Luke 9:11b-17 which talked about the feeding of 5,000. During his homily Bishop Piché said we made a difference in the lives of many people today whether they were smiling at us as the Eucharist and procession walked passed them or where mad with us for delaying their daily lives with closing of West 7th street, 35E exit ramps, Kellog Blvd, Summit Ave. and John Ireland Blvd. Piché also thanked the many present, as well as those that come as a tradition to the procession and challenged all present to please encourage all their family, friends and neighbors to come out next year and join the Corpus Christi Procession which will take place at the Basilica of St Mary.
